Tricia Wellings

Tricia Wellings is an award-winning business owner and has been voted one of the 10 most influential people in her industry sector.

Her early sales career saw her selling timeshare in Spain and vending machines in the UK. However, at the age of 36, she undertook a career change and has now worked in early years for over 20 years and has become a well-respected thought leader for the early years sector.
During this time she has gained her NNEB, BA (Hons) in Early Educations Studies, Early Years Teacher Status and more recently her PTLLS, CTLLS and A1 Assessors award. As a Bright Business Early Years Advisor, she is looking forward to sharing her expertise with others to help them grow their business as she has grown hers. She currently owns 6 children's' day nurseries and 5 Out of School Clubs across the West Midlands.

Tricia has been able to use her considerable knowledge of everything early years from Ofsted to occupancy levels to help other businesses develop their people and build their businesses. As an expert in making the 30 hours funding work for settings and, having trained others on behalf of many local authorities in how to maximize their income from this government initiative, Tricia is ideally placed to become our expert Bright Early Years Advisor and help other businesses to accelerate their profitability.
Her recent successes include:

NMT Awards Lifetime Achievement Award Finalist 2018
FSB Employer of the Year West Midlands Finalist 2019
Pride of Stratford Business Person of the Year 2019
NMT Top 10 Most Influential

Alongside this Tricia supports many things early years. In her limited spare time, Tricia Chairs West Midlands Ofsted Big Conversation Steering Group. She is on the committee of the Birmingham PVI Support Association. She is also a member of the Warwickshire Early Years Support group and very active within the Worcestershire WIPS Group.
It’s fair to say Tricia has a passion for all thing early years.

Tricia lives in Warwickshire and has two (now very grown up) girls, 27 and 24, two dogs called Billy & Davie and one highly talented partner Paul. Paul is her IT champion and go-to person when things need sorting from IT to maintenance – the ideal partner for any nursery owner and Business Advisor.
