Life is a mixture of opportunities and choices. Sometimes I hear business people saying “I wish I had so-and-so’s luck”. Now I know that chance can play a factor in life, but if know how to recognise opportunities when they appear and how to harness skills and processes to get the most out of them, you can create your own luck!
My journey started as an electronic apprentice for engineering businesses in Northampton. I love the technical, whether that’s analysing a business or building a toy robot with my son. The background that apprenticeship gave me was the grounding for that. It has provided me with a technical background that I have immediately used to help clients with technical support.
I moved onto marketing, sales and eventually account managing positions. I kept challenging myself. I loved my results. One memorable milestone for me was exceeding my sales target of 186% in a year!
Becoming a business coach
When it came to my next challenge I realised I wanted to help others to do what I had. I decided to use my experience to become a business coach. I joined the internationally acclaimed ActionCoach. For ten successful years I helped businesses in local areas such as Northampton, Bedford, Milton Keynes and Cambridge grow from strength to strength.
Bright Business advice
After a successful 10-year career in business, I launched Bright Business Advice to provide hands-on, personalised coaching that cuts through the noise. I saw a need for business owners—particularly in the Mechanical & Electrical, Fire & Security and Construction Contracting sectors—to get support that was practical, emotionally intelligent, and results-driven.
Unlike the one-size-fits-all approach of large consultancy firms, I work directly with owners and leadership teams to improve profitability, create structure, and build confident leadership. Backed by 20+ years of experience and advanced qualifications in Emotional Intelligence Leadership, I focus on helping clients take control of their business—and their mindset.
